Make this Cookie Cutter Picture Frame with me!

This great Cookie Cutter Frame is so much fun to make. Sometimes I struggle to find fun crafts for some of the older kids in our ministry, and this frame was a hit in the 4th and 5th grade rooms! I hope you try it out!

Gather Supplies:

  • Disposable Foil Pans (Small/ Medium size)
  • Metal Cookie Cutter (Plastic cookie cutters won’t work.)
  • Perler (Melting/ Ironing) Beads (Any size perler beads will work.) *Amount will vary based on foil pan and cookie cutter size.
  • Jute/ Ribbon (For Hanging Frame)

Instructions:

  • Put your metal cookie cutter in the middle of your disposable foil pan.
  • Fill the space outside the cookie cutter with perler beads, about half an inch deep.(You don’t want to see the foil through the beads, and you don’t want the beads to go all the way to the top of the cookie cutter.) Beads will melt together so attempting to make a design isn’t super realistic.
  • Bake for 16 minutes at 375*F. You want the beads to be melted together.
  • Remove from oven using a potholder and allow to cool for 12-15 minutes.
  • It’s easier to remove the frame from the pan when it’s still warm to the touch. It’ll take a little work to peel the foil back around the edges of the frame and pop out the cookie cutter. Don’t give up, it’ll come out!(Foil pans will be one use only, cookie cutter can be used as many times as you want.)
  • Tie jute/ribbon to the frame for hanging.
  • Attach a picture or verse sign to the back of the frame.
  • Hang up and keep, or gift to someone special.
