Have you ever said that? Are you saying it now? This time of year is such a test for me and for many children’s ministers. Finding workers seems to have gotten so much harder than before.
A friend came by to see me. He shared that he was finished with Kid’s Ministry. I was so sad to hear this and to see the pain he was experiencing. After our conversation, I began to evaluate and consider what was keeping me in the ministry. Here is a quick checklist I came up with and cover in more detail in this short video:
- Revisit your call.
- Are you drawing close to God?
- Are you doing the minimum?
- Invest in yourself. Are you getting training? Are you reading books?
- Find friends you can meet with weekly and talk about your wins and challenges.
