As I was creating decoration ideas for Vacation Bible School this year, I heard that is was possible to cut stars out of CDs. I was shocked!  I told my associate and we raced to the church kitchen to test this theory.  To our amazement, it worked!  Here’s how to do it:

  1. I rounded up some old CDs left over from outdated curriculum.
  2. Using a start pattern, I traced around the star with a Sharpie marker.

  1. Dip the CD into boiling water until is becomes more pliable. It only takes a few minutes.
  2. Cut out the star shape with scissors, but pay attention and be careful because the CD is hot.

Note- If the CD begins to show small cracks, place it back in the water to heat up slightly.
