We love playing with these catapults and I think your kids will too.  They are simple to make.  The base is a 1×2 block of wood about 12 inches long.  Use wood glue to add a clothes pin to the base and a 12 inch ruler (backside showing) to the clothespin.  Glue a small medicine cup on the ruler to hold the item that will be flung.

We provided a mesh hamper in the middle of the circle to shoot marshmallows into.  It would be great to shoot into shoe boxes that have the different divisions of the Bible.  You could score every time you recite the correct book of the Bible in the specific division.  Or, maybe the targets could be Bible references.  You could look them up in the Bible or recite.  I know you will have fun with this.  We did!
