Objective:  Touch and see different grains as you use them to create mosaic pictures.

Prepare cardboard rectangles for each child.  Let them draw a simple design (flower or name).  Fill in different areas with tacky glue then sprinkle or place grain in each area.  Use split peas, rice, lentils, flax seeds, popcorn, etc.  Give the art work plenty of time to dry if you use school glue.  Create a mosaic with the colors and textures of the different grains.  Ask kids what types of foods we keep around now incase we can’t get to the grocery store?  What would they do if the grocery store had no more food?  How far would your family drive if they heard another town had the food they needed?  Joseph made sure Egypt had food and sold it to others from far away.
