Collect several different types of leaves in a variety of sizes (check for allergies prior to using any nature activity with children) and a variety of rocks, large and small. Provide trays or box lids to keep the nature activity together. Invite the children to group similar leaves together and the same with the rocks. As the children work, remind them that different types of leaves and rocks are found by rivers and some in the mountains.
To continue this activity provide markers or crayons along with large sheets of paper inviting the children to trace around the leaves and rocks and find similar ones to fit in the tracing. As children work, share the Bible story for today and encourage children to say the Bible verse with you.
