Gather a flat bed sheet, blankets, or fabric; heavy cord; brown construction paper or small sticks and a flashlight. Children love to build a tent and pretend. Use the materials provided to cover a table or several tables pushed together to create the structure of a tent. Add items that may be used on a camping trip such as a pretend campfire or binoculars. Invite children to pretend while telling the Bible story. Encourage children to tell about their experiences on a trip, whether it be camping or a recent vacation. Did they see water, mountains, grass, animals, etc.? Share the Bible verse for the session and invite children to find ways to “act” it out.
